The village of Murla (approx. 600 inhabitants) is located in the north-east of the province of Alicante on the slopes of the Sierra de La Solana. The deep gorges of the Gorgos cut through the mountainous municipal area. The population lives mainly from the cultivation of almonds, oranges and wine (moscatel). Murla is about 30 km west of Javea.

The Cumbre del Sol residential development in Benitachell comprises approximately 3.7 million square metres of land on a pristine coastline on the Costa Blanca.
